Roadmap: Market and iPhone App

Dear Readers,

you may think I have disappeared. I have not.

As a matter of facts I am watching the market and working on a new iPhone/iPad App. Please allow me to share my ideas and please allow me to ask your cooperation.

The market

What can we say other than "market is crazy"? It looks like moving randomly, with or against economic news.
If you followed me you should have taken some profits and some losses (with a positive balance, though).
Since several weeks ago I am sitting down watching at what's happening. I am not confident yet about investing, although there are many interesting stocks that may be worth to buy sooner or later.

iPhone Apps

Some of you know I am planning to release an iPhone App to calculate stop loss prices.
This is one of 3 apps I have in mind (and I used in a PC Java version):
  1. First App: What to buy. This tool will tell at any time which are the most undervalued companies. Basically, it will provide a watchlist.
  2. Second App: When to buy. This application will tell when we should buy the stocks identified by the first app.
  3. Third App (but first to be released): When to sell. This is the stop loss calculator.

What's next?

I decided to start with the 3rd app, since there is no need for setting up an external server for that. If things go well and I can get some money from that I will setup the server and develop the other two apps.
I am in touch with a developer for this Stop Loss App. It will be available in 2 versions:
  1. Full version. It will calculate stop loss prices for virtually any number of tickers (some of them, though, may be not available - like pink sheet). It will also allow users to define their own risk preferences. I will ask for some money for that.
  2. A light version. It will calculate the stop loss price for one ticker at a time. Available tickers will only include the 30 main Dow Jones. Risk level will not be changeable. This app will be free and will allow users to validate the concept.

How you could help

I have an idea of how much time and money this idea would cost.
Now I need an idea of how many people could appreciate such an application (or such a set of apps).
So I ask you two things:
  1. Would you be so kind to answer the following questions in the comments?
  2. Would you be so kind to forward this to your friends and invite them to do the same?
Thank you

Survey

1. Are you aware of any iPhone/iPad App able to give you a daily stop loss price other than standard trailing stop?

2. Would you be interested in such an App?

3. Would you be willing to pay for such an app? How much?

4. Do you have any additional comment/suggestion?
